this is john lennon's song imagine in the key of c hope you love this simple rendition um make sure to stop the video click on the description below and i do have the printable chord sheet that you can print out follow along with me okay so in the key of c we have c f g a minor and d minor and they also threw in an e chord for good measure for this song okay so let's go through those chords we have c e g which makes up a c chord okay jot up here to the f chord f a c move up one note and you're in the g position this is g b d okay let's move up one more and we have an a minor a c e okay and then let's pick up our d minor here d f a and then our e chord is just move up one note and you're in this position with this black note up here e g sharp b it's kind of a fun chord they threw in this key okay so let's review we have c chord you can move up one note you're in the d minor position move up one note pick up your black note here you're in the e major okay move up one more you're in the f major move up one more you're in the g and move up one more you're in the a minor so you use all of those chords just not in that order okay all right so we have um left hand we're going to play some single notes and just keep it simple so when we play our c chord up here we're just going to play single c note down here okay and then when we play f actually let's just walk it up here so c to c d minor with d in the bass e major with e single note f f single note g and then when you play your a minor you can just open your thumb here notice my left hand i just moved open one note don't move your hand all over the place and lose your position just move one note open okay so a minor to the a and the base okay so let's talk about a rhythm that can bring the two hands together kind of simply and it's called together right together right together right together right okay you can do that on the d minor position [Music] just get used to that nice marching rhythm e oops our e major e major position that triangle shape in our right hand okay and then you can practice those with all of those chords if you'd like to just get some practice okay so let's add in some vocals in verse one since we're gonna have a lot of repetition in this song we uh if you notice in verse one two and three it just goes from the c chord to the f chord and just kind of rocks back and forth okay so you just practice that progression just moving from the c chord to the f chord because that'll be like three-fourths of your song there okay c to the f okay so let's take a look at the bridge so we have um we're kind of hanging out on the f chord there imagine all the people sharing for today okay the bridge one and two are the same it's kind of a fun ditty i just like this uh kind of just the melody to it it's really fun all right so we're gonna in the bridge one we're gonna go f to the a minor to the d minor and to the g so you could practice that chord progression too kind of in a a separate um practice session to break it up if you notice patterns in your music it kind of simplifies it too okay so that was f a minor d minor g okay then you just have the chorus that's left um and we're just gonna go f g c e that's kind of the tricky part okay so we're gonna go f g c and to the e and you can just practice that pattern g c e and if playing two hands together is tricky just play right hand only and that'll simplify it for you okay so i'm gonna jump back to verse one since we've kind of given an overview of what it's gonna look like when it's complete or exact like what the chords are during the whole thing let's break it into chunks with adding some vocals in okay so this verses are just going to be that c to the f just rocking back and forth all right so let's add in the vocals [Music] [Music] us [Music] jump into that bridge imagine them the people sharing for today [Music] then you jump into that chorus with the f chord there f you may say i'm a dreamer e f but i'm not the only one c f e hope someday you'll join us e f and the world will be as one then you go back to the verse two and this is where you just swing to that c to the f okay imagine there's no countries [Music] sorry nothing to kill or die for [Music] and no religion two bridge to imagine all the people living life and peace you may say that i'm a dreamer e f but i'm not the only one [Music] imagine possessions okay and you just keep rocking back and forth between that c to the f c to the f okay all right i'm gonna play it beginning to end go back to the beginning if you need a little help here you go [Music] imagine there's no heaven it's easy if [Music] above us only sky imagine all the people sharing for today [Music] you may say that i'm a dreamer [Music] but i'm not the only one i hope someday you'll join us imagine there's no countries [Music] it isn't hard to do [Music] imagine all the people living life and [Music] that peace a dreamer [Music] but i'm not the only one i hope someday [Music] possessions i wonder if you can no need for greed or hunger [Music] imagine all the people [Music] but i'm not the only one i hope someday you'll join us [Music] and the world will be as one [Music] you must say that i'm a dreamer [Music] but i'm not the only one i hope someday you'll join us [Music] and the world will be as one imagine all the people sharing all the world you you may say that i'm a dreamer ...
