ah I think I broke it mmm hey guys welcome back to creative piano Academy quit being Joseph Saqqara and today I wanted to answer one of the questions I get asked all the time over in there do YouTube comments and that is what is that piece of software that you use that likes apologies above the actual keys I'm playing tells you what the notes are it tells you what the notation is in the corner and the actual piece of software is called Cordy okay it's called Cordy and it is an absolutely fantastic piece of software I myself spent months trying to find this piece of software in order to you know build it into my tutorials because I knew that it would make the tutorials so much more easier to follow for you you know I'd like to pull the keys and it tells you the cards and the notation and everything and I saw other people using it was like what is this piece of software where can I find itself eventually the owner of the software replied to one of my comments and told me exactly what it was and where I could find it but I wanted it for my tutorials because it was absolutely perfect to overlay over the top of what I was playing for you but really its primary purpose is to basically show you exactly what cards you're playing in real time and I thought that was an absolutely invaluable tool for you if you're learning all your piano cards you know as a better than aid so let me show you the power of this app and how it can help you I've got two versions of it up here I've got the original version right here and I've got the the latest version the reason why I've got the original is purely because it's a bit cleaner and it's specific to - which is to use it with my tutorial videos but the latest version here you can see various things that it will tell you so if I play a chord just playing on the C chord tells me exactly what that card is look so you can see it's got to see tells me tells what the chord is right here and it also shows me which keys I'm playing down at the bottom it tells me the notation it tells me the names of the keys here the names of the notes it tells me how to play it on the guitar I've got so much information here just from one chord and the real where it really shines okay is when perhaps you're at a stage in your learning process where you want to explore some other chords and try to understand how cards fit together for instance I could start playing more interesting chords C major seven tells me exactly what that is gives me other options of what the chord is as well so I know it's a C major seven but it also could be called an e minor with a C in the bass so it is an E minor chord with a singing the bass so it gives you all those different options and maybe I can start building a card so I'll just start playing a bunch of random notes and it'll tell me what that what that chord is so what I got here d minor nine with an added 11 with a C in the pace it's absolutely fantastic for you when you want to stop play around with different cause different chord voicings and get a little bit more insight into what those chords actually are so using might start building your own cards and little game you can play with yourself is like okay I've got what card is this well I've got a G in the bass so I've got a B sort of major chord in the right I've got this out of F so that would be a G minor seven chord over here G minor seven absolutely correct and these are the kind of things you can start doing in your learning process when you're learning chords it's like a little teacher that's there all the time telling you whether you're right or home now the app itself is actually created by an indie developer and I've talked to him I've communicated with him several times he's a really nice guy he's got a YouTube channel called madcap music so I'll put a link in the cars pull in the link in the information box go show him some love subscribe to him and check him out so fantastic I really want this out where can i buy it well I've put a link in the information box down below and full disclosure it's an affiliate link and all that means is that when you buy the the app I get a tiny bit of the sale price I have no problem recommending it as you can see on my channel I've been using it for a year and a half now with no problems whatsoever although I do want to point out that this is a digital piece of software so you are going to need to hook your piano hook your digital keyboard up to your computer via either USB or MIDI so that it can communicate with the app and all that means is you know I use quite an old keyboard now so let me just show you register show you my sir so quickly I actually use this phantom x8 here and it's really old so I have to hook up this keyboard using MIDI okay and that goes to a little MIDI converter which is this little thing right here and then that hooks up to my computer to my iMac via USB and the reason why I had to do that is because it's so old now that the the drivers aren't even available for anymore so it does have a USB out but the computer won't even recognize it it took me ages to figure this out do bear in mind you will have to hook up your digital can on to your computer somehow whether that's USB on many so that the app will actually function so there we are guys mystery solved that is the piece of software I use in my tutorials fantastic learning tool as you're learning your cards imagine if I care a little teacher that stood over your just telling you what your cards are all the time again link to purchase it down in the information box below like this video if you liked it subscribe to the channel and I will see you I will see you in there the next video [Music] you [Music] ...
