so I wanted to learn the piano and I've tried my luck with two Android and iPhone apps to find out which one offers the best lessons and I'm not a total beginner either since I know how to read shoot music but I wanted to see which of these apps could really help me improve my piano skills hey everyone welcome back to the channel so in this video I'm going to compare two of the subscription Services I found to be really great ways to learn how to play the piano which are simply piano and scoop and I'll go through what they're like to use how much they cost and which one managed to help me out the most in my opinion and if at any point you decide that you want to try any of these apps you can use the affiliate links that are down in the description they won't cost you anything and you'll get a bit of a discount which you wouldn't get if you went directly to any of their websites so without further Ado let's begin this comparison video okay so let's start with simply piano which is an app designed for beginners which I definitely was back when I started it uses bright colors that gives it an almost cartoonish feel so the app basically offers piano guitar or singing lessons by using acoustic learning and something that really made me appreciate it even more is that it has a feature called music sense which can basically hear what you play or sing and gives you feedback right on the spot okay so to get started you need to create an account on their website or just download the app it's really really quick and easy after you go through a detailed quiz where you need to tell them a bit about your music levels your goals what kind of music you like and whether you prefer audio or visual instruction or a combination of both and once you've completed their quiz they'll give you an estimate on how fast your progress is going to be now simply piano does have a limited free version that gives you one free course in piano Basics but you'll need to subscribe to a three-month individual plan that costs just under 60 bucks now if you go for the yearly premium individual plan it cost 120 bucks or 10 bucks a month and there's also a yearly family plan where you can create up to premium profiles and get access to both simply piano and simply guitar cost just under 180 bucks a year or 15 bucks per month and the first 25 courses start with the very Basics and then you can choose between two lesson plans depending on whether or not you'd like to focus on Theory and technique or chord lessons if you go with Theory and technique you'll focus more on learning classical music and if you go with chord lessons you'll start learning pop Jazz and rock right away with explainer videos to you better remember what you've learned another thing that I really like about this app is that it really feels like you're playing a game rather than learning which makes it more fun and if you want to use it there's printable sheet music as well and I really like that they have a catalog of over 5,000 songs from all kinds of different genres for my kids it was cool that they had lots of Disney and classical 2 which you unlock as you progress and before we move on to the next app I just want to reiterate that if you want to give either of these apps a try you can use the affiliate links that are down in the description they won't cost you anything and you'll get a bit of a discount which you wouldn't get if you went directly to either of their websites okay so the next one we're going to talk about is sco which creates personalized lessons for piano and guitar using Ai and what they also do is use popular songs to get you started which really makes it easy to learn how to read music and play chords and you can either install scoo on your phone or tablet or you use the browser version on your desktop so the app is pretty easy to set up and if you start with a free version it gives you access to three basic lessons just to see if it could work for you now when it comes to pricing one month starts at 30 bucks but the best deal you can get is $150 for the year which works out to about 12250 a month and if you're still not sure about it there's a 7-Day free trial and you have another 14 days to change your mind and get a full refund no questions asked and you get access to more than 500 lessons with Section that span for beginner to intermediate to more advanced however you can move freely through lessons if you feel like you're learning much more quickly than you expected and and you could also try courses on reading music chords and scales as well but the best ones in my opinion are focused on genres like blues or jazz or specific artists now if you want to play using original sheet music sco might not be the right app for you because all their songs are arranged by them to be used as lessons and if you're wondering about the song Library it has a lot of really cool songs that you can try but it's not that extensive compared to other platforms okay so when it comes to lesson designed it's pretty simple and easy to understand you start by listening to a song and then you see a teacher's hands playing the notes on a piano on the bottom of the screen and you learn by actually watching the music notes that are tracked towards the top of the screen so you can make the connection between the notes you see and the sounds that they produce and then you learn the names of notes or whatever Theory applies to the songs before you play it with your virtual teacher giving you real time feedback on timing technique and expression which I found to be really really great so to sum things up simply piano really helped me out because I got to learn how to play piano with both hands in about 10 days and it does have a colorful design with lots of animations and sound effects which might irritate some people especially because you can't turn them off and more experienced piano players might find it too simple for them but on the other hand it's more affordable than sco even though it doesn't have a browser version now sco does come with a web app and has a larger library of songs which you can filter by difficulty their lesson design is simple and they offer additional features such as exercises to reinforced music theory as well as tips for improving posture and playing technique as well so you're sitting the right way and your hands are in the right spot so it's really up to you to decide which one of these two apps would fit your needs okay so this concludes my comparison video of Simply
